Contract Administrator

At Arete Design Group, we design environments where people live, learn, work, and gather. We also believe the place we work should feel just as intentional. Creativity, collaboration, and a welcoming atmosphere matter here—and we’re looking for someone who wants to be part of that every day.

We’re seeking a full-time contract administrator who enjoys solving problems in real time, collaborating with teams in the office and in the field, and ensuring that what’s drawn on paper works in the real world.

About the Role

Our Contract Administrator serves as a critical link between the design team and construction teams, helping ensure that projects are clear, coordinated, and buildable. This position focuses on quality control, communication, and field engagement throughout the construction phase. You’ll review drawings and specifications for constructability, lead pre-construction and bidding meetings, review submittals, conduct site visits, and prepare field observation reports. You’ll also assist with punch lists, coordinate with contractors and consultants, and work closely with our internal team to provide feedback that strengthens both current and future projects.

You won’t be stuck behind a desk every day. There is some office work, but for the most part, you will be out on job sites, collaborating, problem-solving, and helping our team continually improve how we design and document projects.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • A team player who communicates clearly and confidently with contractors, consultants, and design staff

  • Experienced in construction processes and documentation

  • Skilled at reviewing drawings and identifying coordination or constructability issues

  • Comfortable leading meetings and facilitating discussions among project stakeholders

  • Detail-oriented, organized, can adapt easily to our filing system, and proactive in resolving challenges

  • Confident providing constructive feedback to strengthen project outcomes

Candidates should have hands-on construction experience, either from a contractor background or an architectural background with construction-phase involvement. The strongest candidates will understand how projects actually get built and enjoy working in the field as much as in the office.

Why Arete?

As architects, we shape working environments for others every day, and we take that same care in creating our own. Arete offers a collaborative, respectful, and genuinely fun workplace where people support each other, celebrate milestones, and take pride in the work they do. You’ll join a team that values professionalism and personality, precision and creativity, structure and flexibility.
