The existing City of Laramie Public Safety Training Facility is antiquated, undersized and inadequate to train fire fighters and other public safety personnel. In order to upgrade the facility, the existing training tower will be deconstructed and two new training buildings constructed.

The first building is two-story burn building constructed completely of cast-in-place concrete and CMU. This 1,630 square foot facility is design to house Class-A fires and will be a main training tool for the City of Laramie. In addition, a 4-story Drill Tower that will house Class-B fire props, smoke machines and a changeable “maze” is also included. Similarly, the drill tower is constructed mainly of concrete and CMU, but also includes some structural steel. In addition the existing 630 square foot classroom building will be added onto to include a new 3,220 square foot apparatus bay where trainees can learn how to “gear-up” and rig an engine.
